What you can do and what the Lord can do

Psalm 20

v1 - v3 We are praying that:
· the LORD will answer you when trouble comes
· the name of the God of Jacob will make you safe
· God will send you help from his holy place
· he will make you strong from Zion
· God will remember all your gifts
· he will like all your burnt offerings SELAH
v4 We want God to give you all that you really want
to make all your plans work well
v5 We will shout for joy when you win the war.
We will lift up our banners in the name of our God.
We want the LORD to answer all that you pray.
v6 Now I know that the LORD will save his king.
God will answer him from his holy heaven.
The right hand of God will save the king.
v7 Some people rely on chariots. Others rely on horses.
But we will trust in the name of the LORD our God.
v8 They will falter and fall.
But we will get up and remain strong.
v9 Lord, save the king!
Answer us when we pray.

I say this prayer every day, and I pray it over myself and over all the people that I love. I personalize it, by substituting 'me' where it says 'you' or I use 'they' or 'them'. I do it because I am just one person, I am human, and I have limitations, but God does not have any limitations, and when I ask Him to move on my behalf, He moves, not because I am someone special that He has to obey, but because of His love and mercy.

He always listens to His little ones, the ones who love Him and adore Him. They seek Him out daily in their lives, call on His name; they say "good morning" to Him when they wake up, and express how they are feeling to Him all day long. They make a conscious effort to include Him when making decisions about their lives, they seek His guidance in everything that they do, and they rely on His mercy.

This is not an easy process, for human nature is selfish, and we tend to want to do things our own way, but God's way of working things out is always the best. You just have to make a conscious decision to include Him in your daily life, ask for guidance and then patiently wait for the answer. Sometimes the answer will come right away, you will hear the whisper of love in your heart, other times it doesn't come right away, but with faith and perseverance, you will receive the answer, just keep on praying and learn to worship Him in His presence.

What we can do as believers is learn how to strengthen our relationship with the Lord, and live a life of peace and joy as best we can; what we are not able to do, God will do on our behalf or will He will enable us to do it. Everything in our lives hinges on what He can do for us, not what we can do for Him.

Peace comes to us in a time where there is no peace by relying on Him instead of on ourselves. We tend to focus on our problems and allow our minds to wallow in negative feelings and thoughts, but once we take the focus off of ourselves and put it back into the Lord, we find peace and joy returning, we find rest in His arms and we find the strength to deal with our problems in a way that glorifies God.

No one can do this without the power of the Lord and His Holy Spirit. Just when we reach the end of ourselves, He is there to pick us up, to provide comfort and guidance, you just have to believe that Jesus is risen, He is real, and He can do everything you need him to do.

Philippians 4:13 'I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.'

Now if you do not believe in Jesus Christ, you will find very little solace in the world, for everything that goes on in the world has very little to do with love, grace, and mercy. The only hope for the world is in the One who came to save us and set us free. I urge you to reach out to Him for guidance and for the answers to all of your questions. It starts with acknowledging that you don't know what your purpose is in life, and that you don't have all the answers. You must have a willingness to open your heart to a new way of thinking and living, and accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, and then your new life will begin.

How is that new life started? Pray this prayer:

Prayer of Salvation

Lord,

I repent for trying to be master of my own life. I change my mind about who I want to be in charge of my life. I turn from my useless and unproductive thoughts that I am the center of my universe and choose to believe in the living God who created everything, including me (Acts 14:15). I have lived without a purpose but now I will live to hear and obey You, God (Jn. 5:19, 20,30).

I confess with my lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead. I believe that God so loved the world He sent His only Son Jesus to shed His blood to wash away the barrier of sin (Jn. 3:16)

I receive You, Jesus as MY Lord and Savior (Jn. 1:11,12).

I welcome You, Holy Spirit, into my life to rescue and empower me and to restore me to intimacy with my heavenly Father (Acts 2:38).

If you just confessed this prayer, you are saved! I welcome you into the family my (brother/sister) I pray for peace, joy, and happiness in your life as you allow the Lord to love you and bless you and give you assurance of everlasting life with Him forever and ever......PRAISE GOD!

May the Lord keep you and Bless you this day....Amen
