Brokeness is described as a state of extreme discouragement and unhappiness. It can happen when you are at the crossroads of your life, after many tragic events or hard circumstances have depleted your sense of self and faith. We all go through times of disappointment and pain, but brokeness is the next step down towards disillusionment , depression, and despair.
You are in that place where your pain is amplified, and you feel that you don't have many options. I have experienced brokeness two times in my life, when someone I really loved left me for a period of time, and when someone I loved died. I remember some days laying in bed for hours, not sleeping just existing, not really thinking about anything much, just not able to make a decision to do anything else. Then there were nights of anguish and pain, going through the past, wondering why the things that happened in my life happened the way that they did, going through the painful circumstances over and over again like a broken record, or a endless loop. I experienced these things as a christian, a born again believer, and it was only by the Grace of God that I was able to break the loop and to make a decision to keep on living.
“The Lord is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18). It did take sometime before I could stop myself from dwelling on the pain of the past, and to start focusing on my blessings; the Lord blessed me with His presence and His love.
That is why the Lord commands us not to look at our problems and situations as a serious issue, but as an opportunity for His Grace and Mercy to perform miracles in our lives; He gets all the glory and we feel overwhelmed by joy and happiness.
So, when you feel anxious or afraid, when the old hurts and pains start to manifest in your mind and heart, your first thought should be to banish these thoughts with the word of God:
“Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me… The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise” (Psalm 51:10, 17).
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13
“But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5).
"God will lavish you with good things: children from your womb, offspring from your animals, and crops from your land, the land that God promised your ancestors that he would give you. God will throw open the doors of his sky vaults and pour rain on your land on schedule and bless the work you take in hand. You will lend to many nations but you yourself won’t have to take out a loan. God will make you the head, not the tail; you’ll always be the top dog, never the bottom dog, as you obediently listen to and diligently keep the commands of God, your God, that I am commanding you today. Don’t swerve an inch to the right or left from the words that I command you today by going off following and worshiping other gods." DEUTERONOMY 28:13
He has everything that you need to heal your broken heart and renew your strength, lean on Him and His word, and then do NOTHING -- that's right NOTHING --- let His Word and His Holy Spirit do the heavy work, for you know within your heart that you cannot heal yourself! Just give Him your heart and mind, obey His Word, cherish His presence and love Him, be guided by His sweet spirit, and give
Him the honor and the glory that He deserves. You will never find another person on earth or anywhere else that will love you more!
If you need to be healed of a broken heart, call on His name, accept Jesus Christ as your personal savior, and let the healing and the miracles begin! Repeat this prayer:
Prayer of Salvation
Lord,
I repent for trying to be master of my own life. I change my mind about who I want to be in charge of my life. I turn from my useless and unproductive thoughts that I am the center of my universe and choose to believe in the living God who created everything, including me (Acts 14:15). I have lived without a purpose but now I will live to hear and obey You, God (Jn. 5:19, 20,30).
I confess with my lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead. I believe that God so loved the world He sent His only Son Jesus to shed His blood to wash away the barrier of sin (Jn. 3:16)
I receive You, Jesus as MY Lord and Savior (Jn. 1:11,12).
I welcome You, Holy Spirit, into my life to rescue and empower me and to restore me to intimacy with my heavenly Father (Acts 2:38).
If you just confessed this prayer, you are saved! I welcome you into the family my (brother/sister) I pray for peace, joy, and happiness in your life as you allow the Lord to love you and bless you and give you assurance of everlasting life with Him forever and ever......PRAISE GOD!
May the Lord keep you and Bless you this day....Amen
